Encouraged by numerous requests for help, we're running hands on vegetable garden classes.
Lots of people read up on gardens in forums and websites like this, but when it comes to putting their learning into practise, struggle with the tasks ahead.
So what are the classes all about?
Available only to residents in Victoria for practicality/travel distance reasons) classes are to be held at our property on the Mornington Peninsula. (If you live too far away, checkout our Correspondence classes here. We will cover starting your own garden from scratch, simply starting with an open piece of ground.
Some of the topics Covered:
Selecting a site
Building raised beds
Composting & Mulching
Seed raising and transplanting
Plant care
Pests & Diseases
Harvesting & preserving
Classes are held weekly/fortnightly depending on weather conditions and progress needs and are HANDS ON. This means that together, we will build, prepare and plant a patch from scratch, learning skills that you can then take home and apply in your own garden.
As a qualified trainer with 15 years experience in training and creating training material, I have created a set curriculum for each class. On hand, we also have a qualified Horticulturalist with over 25 years experience, so you can be assured of receiving accurate advice based on facts and our combined experiences.
Come down and spend the day, learn practical skills and enjoy an espresso and our ornamental gardens whilst you're here!
If there are insufficient students to run a group class, or if you prefer, we can tailor one on one classes to suit your specific situation, needs and experience.
Fill out the submission form below for more information or if you have any questions.

Charcuterie Classes
If you're a lover of fine quality smallgoods and would love to make your own, our neighbour (and breeder of rare Wessex Saddleback pigs) Ken Nef, occasionally runs Charcuterie classes from his property. Ken, his pigs and smallgoods are shortly to be featured in The Age Epicure and are bound to be a hit.
Having learnt the craft from traditional makers in Italy, Ken runs hands on classes that teach you everything you need to know about making your own sausages, salamis, proscuitto and more.
Ken is making two sets of classes available in the coming weeks and spaces are limited.
If you're interested and want to know more details, fill out the form below (select Charcuterie) and we'll put you in touch.
The first class session is set for the weekend of August 6th 2011.
